The addition of winkers resulted in a fabulous result for the connections of Tizso Fab, who added his 2nd career victory at Ararat on Sunday February 11.

After an impressive maiden win at Kerang at the end of 2023, Tizso Fab was tested over a mile at Great Western and whilst he run well, it was evident that he did not run out a strong mile. A masterstroke from Freedman brought the son of Astern back to 1300m at Ararat and put the winkers on for the first time, which proved to be a winning recipe.

Tizso Fab was uncharacteristically slow into stride, but Jarrod Fry was able to position him into a positive position, two pairs from the leader on a moderate tempo. As they rounded into the straight, Fry presented Tizso Fab to the outside and made a strong dash to the line, winning by the narrowest of margins. Post race Fry commented “I always felt the winner but he needed every bit of the 1300m to get there.” The tensions were high after the race, as connections eagerly awaited the final result from the race caller.

Typically, the last race at Ararat on a Sunday would be a relatively quiet affair, with a few owners and punters in attendance but not when Tizso Fab is going around! The roar from the ownership group as the race caller announced the photo could have challenged the decibel metre at the recent Taylor Swift concerts! It was a great thrill to have so many owners on course basking in the glory of Tizso Fab’s second win. There truly is nothing like the excitement of being there live to watch your horse win.

Tizso Fab’s win at Ararat marks the final chapter of an eventful racing career with our team as he will be sold in the next Inglis Digital auction. As is common in our great game, patience of all parties can be tested, but those with patience get rewarded. Thank you to the ownership group involved in Tizso Fab, a fantastic result to win two races with him and we cannot wait to race with you again in the future.
