The big grey, Boga Legend is an eye catcher in the yard and has the talent to match, breaking his maiden in emphatic style at Pakenham on May 16.

It has taken the lightly raced son of Puissance De Lune four starts to break his maiden, perhaps longer than the stable anticipated but he has been ultra consistent in some metropolitan and strong rating maidens. First up this preparation off some promising trials, Boga Legend ran 2nd in the 3yo 1700m maiden at the Warrnambool carnival, making an enormous run from back in the field, which proved to be very difficult to do so over the carnival. Coming back slightly to the 1600m and drawing a more suitable gate, Boga Legend burst clear at the top of the long Pakenham straight and put his rivals away in a handful of strides, resulting in a comfortable 3 three-length victory.

Boga Legend’s maiden win included the lucrative Vobis Silver & Gold bonuses, resulting in $44,000 in prize money out of a $40,000 race – a great endorsement for the Vobis system and reward for the ownership group. It was a great thrill to see Mr Lachlan Holmes-Brown & Mr Nathaniel Holmes-Brown make the drive from Swan Hill to see Boga Legend. A 7 hour round trip on a Thursday night is always worth it when you have a win like that!
