Fine Weather continues to impress and improve with racing this preparation, adding career victory number three over 2400m at Mornington on Monday April 4.

Fine Weather kicked off his preparation in a Benchmark 58 over 1200m at Swan Hill, in which is class prevailed over an unsuitable trip and now stepping out to his niche staying trips, a determined front running effort saw him hold on against his rivals.

Fine Weather lead from pillar to post with another horse right on his shoulder, pressuring the entire trip. When Jordan Childs asked Fine Weather for his final effort, he continued to pick up and sustain a strong gallop to the line. The horse that was troubling him throughout was the first one beaten, adding gusto to Fine Weather’s extraordinary performance to hold off his competitors.

The 4yo son of Night Of Thunder has come on leaps and bounds this preparation, racing far more professionally and tractably for the rider. He was ever-so close at Kilmore over 1600m and 2000m in his previous two starts and it was a pleasing result to see him go one better at Mornington. Freedman said post race “The team at Balius Farm who retain a share to race always said the family took a lot of time and patience to get the best out of the progeny. This advice has been pivotal in his development as he is still taking small steps towards being a complete racehorse.”

Being a Super Vobis horse, he has now earnt $114,395 in prizemoney from only eleven starts, including $32,800 in bonus. All roads may now lead to the ‘Bool, with an ominous Vobis Gold BM70 2350m race looking a great option for his next assignment.

Congratulations to the connections of Fine Weather.
