Budding stayer Guido added his second career victory at Echuca, running over the top of his rivals to score a well-fought win.
Similar to his first campaign, Guido improved sharply stepping out in distance, showcasing his staying ability. From only ten career start, Guido has run in the money five times including his two wins. His record at the mile and beyond is 5: 2:2:1 – an impressive record for a young, lightly raced stayer.
Freedman said post-race “He is a horse that takes a big workload and has really come on over the past month. He has a good base fitness underneath him and will continue to improve as he steps out in distance.”
It is a great thrill to have a winner for Terry Henderson and OTI Racing. Guido will be one to follow for the remainder of his preparation, as he steps out to the staying distances and likely the addition of blinkers.
We hope to see him back on the winners list soon!
