Mitch Freedman will have his first runner in the $250,000 Magic Millions 2yo Classic on his hometown cup day this Saturday.
Seacryption, a daughter of Encryption was purchased from the Magic Millions in January this year for $130,000 from the Eureka Stud draft. Freedman was extremely impressed with the strength and substance of the filly, believing she would be an early 2yo, targeting the Magic Millions from the first time he laid eyes on her.
Freedman believes Seacryption is special filly with an exciting career ahead of her, commenting from her first piece of work “she doesn’t feel like a yearling, she gives me an incredible feel.”
In an interview with Racing.com, Freedman said “She’s not gung ho and going up on speed, and (not) knowing everything about it but we think she is keeping on improving into the prep and she’s done enough to go to the races and there is good prizemoney on offer.”
Freedman has had great success with his recent Magic Millions Gold Coast purchases. In the previous two years, he has purchased Stakes placed 2yo and multiple group-class performing 3yo Vagrant, a classic son of So You Think, Baltic Way, who looks an athletic stayer in the making and now followed by the exciting Seacryption.
Freedman expects Seacryption “to go there a bit green and a bit raw, but we’d expect her to be strong at the finish and probably stretch to a bit further as she gets on in her career.”
Seacryption has a number of first-time owners with the Freedman team and we are thrilled to have them as part of our team with an exciting two-year old. Join us in wishing them all the best on Saturday and into the future!
