Exciting 3yo Filly Belle Et Riche added her second career victory in scintillating fashion at Sandown on Sunday May 22, scorching home from last to win by just under a length.
From the outside gate, Jordan Childs settled at the back of the field in the three-wide line, before producing Belle Et Riche at the top of the straight where she produced her explosive turn of foot. Once Childs asked her for an effort, Belle Et Riche produced the fastest 400-200m split of the day and worked home impressively, as one of the very few back makers to make considerable ground at the meeting.
Freedman was ecstatic with the efforts of his filly, “She’s continued to develop her race sense this time around, to defy the pattern and maintain a long gallop like that shows that we have a nice filly for the future. We are mindful she still has some physical development to make and will manage that accordingly.”
It was fantastic to see great support from the ownership group and no doubt a special photo for the memories in years to come. Belle Et Riche boasts an impressive record of five starts for two wins, two seconds and a third, accumulating over $100,000 in prize money already.
