The striking grey, Boga Legend bounced back to winning ways after a string of consistent performances, showing great fight to win at Geelong on Thursday June 5.

Boga Legend is a horse who possesses good talent, but unfortunately this preparation has had a few things against him. The ghostly grey has been travelling across the West-gate in search of Vobis bonuses and just has not had the ideal track conditions to his liking. Freedman said “he is a horse who really appreciates softer ground and on his previous two runs, Jye has commented that he is just feeling the track late when asked for the superior effort. It was great to see him in for the fight and get his head down at the right time.”

Freedman’s rain dance seemingly paid off, with the Geelong track presenting a Soft 6 surface with same rain earlier in the week which saw a change of fortune and Boga Legend back in the winners stall. From the wide gate, a positive ride from Jye McNeil saw the pair land outside the leader, before he and Makdane went toe to toe in the straight and Boga Legend was able to obtain the upper hand.

McNeil said post race “he’s been running very honest, but the main difference (today) was getting some juice in the track, and he’s only going to get better as the tracks get wetter.”

From twelve starts, it’s hard to fathom that Boga Legend has only won the two races, with $126,000 in the bank and we are hopeful that this confidence boosting win will hold him in good stead for the preparation ahead.

Congratulations to the connections of Boga Legend on a well deserved win!
