Ultra-consistent gelding Docinthe added his fourth career win at the home track on Sunday May 11, winning in the BM64 1400m.
Docinthe has been a stable stalwart in the past 18 months and has taken his owners on a fantastic ride, now surpassing $120,000 in prize money and earnt his owners a Vobis Platinum voucher with his efforts on the weekend, a great return for a $20,000 horse!
Docinthe is a horse who always gives his all, running on strongly from the 2nd half of the field. Apprentice Jaylah Kennedy gave Docinthe a fantastic ride, allowing him to balance up and build through his gears, before being the strongest of all challengers, getting over the top of them all in a photo finish.
Freedman said post-race “he has been a great horse for the stable and it’s really pleasing to see him reward his owners with another victory. He is a pleasure to work with, a stable favourite of the staff and its very rewarding for him to win his fourth race.”
The Mitch Freedman stable is in a rich vein of form in the previous quarter, with fifteen winners from the month of February. “We had a bit of a slow start to the season and had some tough luck, whether that be through barriers, luck in running or just horses not running to their mark, but as always in racing, the wheel keeps turning and we are really pleased to get some strong results for the team.”
Congratulations to all involved with Docinthe!
