Mr Shorty a home bred from Roll The Dice Racing duly saluted at Donald on Saturday June 22.
The son of Puissance De Lune has come a long way since arriving at the stables, displaying good improvement both physically and mentally. He made a strong debut at Werribee early in the month, backed up by his times on the clock that suggested he would not remain a maiden for long.
“He has really come on from his first start and to see him win at only his second career start is a very pleasing result. He is still very immature and is only going to keep improving as he steps out in distance.” Freedman said post race. The win has extra gusto for the Freedman camp, delivering the team’s 41st winner of the season, which is a new record, with five weeks still to go in the season.
Mr Shorty was ridden by Will Gordon, who is building a good association with the stable, his second winner for the team in a matter of weeks. Gordon shared Freedman’s thoughts, that Mr Shorty is only going to keep improving with time on his side.
Those in the breeding game understand the patience and good fortune required to get a horse to the races, let alone the winners stall and Roll The Dice Racing have done a fantastic job to get Mr Shorty to this point. Congratulations to all connections of the horse and those that have been involved in the journey to date.
