Promising, lightly raced mare Point Of Ecstasy broke her maiden first up off a break at Swan Hill on Sunday August 24. Point Of Ecstasy had a good first campaign in the Summer/Autumn months, running 2nd, 3rd and 4th in her first three starts and it was a great thrill to see her get her maiden win on the board.
There were some nervous moments before the start, with Point Of Ecstasy getting her leg up in the barriers and needing to pass a vet check. Fortunately she did so, and left the machines well, taking up the speed and continued to run strongly through the line. The daughter of Blue Point looks like she will keep improving past 1200m, promising signs for the preparation ahead.
“We hoped she would make good physical improvement off the back of an Autumn spell and it’s great to see her win first up. She is a busy filly mentally, but hopefully this experience will hold her in good stead going forward and she will be able to sustain a strong preparation over the Spring.” Freedman said post race.
Point Of Ecstasy was ridden by Jarrod Fry and was the Freedman / Fry combination’s 99th winner. Jarrod Fry has been working hard for the stable in his return from injury and a great reward for his hard work – keep posted as the team are chasing their 100th winner together!
Congratulations to the ownership group of Point Of Ecstasy and all the best for the preparation in the upcoming preparation.
