The airborne Mitch Freedman stable have continued the winning ways of 2022, adding three consecutive victories coming off the back of the Labour Day March long weekend.
The run began with Hai Sun lighting up the ‘Bool, winning her second race from only seven starts and taking her career earnings to $137,995. Hai Sun is a fantastic ambassador of the lucrative Vobis Gold & Super Vobis bonuses that are available, and she certainly has ‘cashed in’ on these opportunities. Hai Sun looks posed for an exciting Autumn campaign ahead, enjoying tracks with some give and plenty more Vobis prizemoney on offer.
Our attention turned to the home-track on Tuesday March 15, where Freedman saluted with both runners on the day. Elskling was an eye-catching debutant back in the Spring and there certainly were a lot of keen followers waiting for her racetrack return. She has returned a physically matured horse and ‘bolted in’ first up, albeit not loving the heavy 8 surface. Ridden by Tahlia Hope who is flying for the stable, Hope felt “she purely won on her ability today.”
Coquille relished the heavy track and showcased her sharp turn of foot to win in the Benchmark 64 handicap over 1200m. Coquille is another lightly raced mare within the stable who Freedman has found the key to. “I think she is best kept fresh and to the sprinting trips. She has showcased some great performances first up and a month between runs into Ballarat really suited her.”
Freedman credited his staff for the results throughout the fantastic start to 2022. “We are all working hard at home and it’s a real credit
