Unthinkable added her third career victory on Friday February 23 under the lights at Moonee Valley.
As can often be the case at The Valley, the leaders looked to put the brakes on in the middle stages of the race before sprinting clear and fortunately Jordan Childs’ was aware of the mid-race slow down, taking the initiative to increase Unthinkable’s gallop, racing away in the last 400m.
The daughter of Churchill is Vobis Gold qualified, making the victory even sweeter as she picked up $47,000 for winning a $60,000 race. Unthinkable has now taken her career earnings to almost $100,000 from only 9 starts. Freedman said post-race “Unthinkable has taken great development between preparations and we were delighted to get a result with her early in the preparation.”
The race won was a heat of the Moonee Valley Summer Middle Distance Series, culminating in the Summer Middle Distance Series Final on Friday March 8, worth $125,000 with Vobis Gold attached. Whether Unthinkable goes to the final, or perhaps goes chasing a country cup is yet to be decided but either way, she is definitely a horse to follow.
It was fantastic to see a large group of owners from Roll The Dice on track and we look forward to seeing her again at the races early in March.
