Unthinkable scored her first Saturday metropolitan win on February 8 at Caulfield on C.F Orr Stakes Day. Unthinkable has been a model of consistency throughout her career to date, running in the top three on nine occasions from nineteen starts, including four wins, highlighted by a Friday night at Moonee Valley win and now a Saturday win on a Group 1 meeting.

Unthinkable possesses brilliant endeavour and competitive spirit in her racing, a feat which sees her put in every start. In the past twelve months, we have learnt that she is best suited when she is ridden close to the speed and can sustain a strong gallop, using her competitive nature to her advantage. Unthinkable was a dual acceptor at Moonee Valley Friday night and Caulfield on Saturday. After assessing both races, the team decided that Saturday’s race was the best option for her to settle on the speed and dominate the race, ultimately giving her the best opportunity to be winning.

A great ride from Harry Coffey, in what was his first of four wins on the day, saw Unthinkable leave from the wide barrier positively and be able to settle outside the leader, executing the race plan perfectly.  Travelling comfortably throughout, Unthinkable was pouring the pressure on from the 600m and was too brave late, running way to a 1.25length victory.

The win saw her ownership group net $85,000 in prize money, including bonuses from the lucrative Vobis scheme here in Victoria and this takes her career earnings to $230,000, almost eight times her original purchase price of $30,000. Congratulations to Roll The Dice Racing, great partners of the stable and it is always a thrill to be winning in their colours.
