Yulong Prediction was a dominant winner at the first meeting of the season on the Sportsbet-Ballarat Synthetic on Monday May 17. Yulong Prediction was well behaved for his first race-day experience and jumped cleanly, landing in the box seat for Jockey Dean Yendall before blowing his rivals away for a 5-length victory.
The Nostradamus 3yo gelding’s blistering speed over the 1200m equalled the track record with a time of 1:11:87 for the gallop – an incredible feat for a first-starter.
Trainer Mitch Freedman was extremely pleased with the result, explaining post-race “this was the first preparation Yulong Prediction has progressed to the jumpout stage with us” believing he has only scratched the surface, with plenty of improvement and experience to be gained from his victory. “His trackwork on the Polytrack has been pleasing and coming here we thought he would handle the surface.” Dean Yendall shared Freedman’s optimistic outlook for Yulong Prediction, stating “he travelled nicely and was solid through the line.”
The future looks bright for Yulong Prediction, particularly with the Polytrack Season ramping up through the winter months. Congratulations to Yulong Investments and connections of Yulong Prediction.
