Off the back of a double at Pakenham to kick off the month, the stable has continued its strong run of form, adding two more winners over the weekend.

Samurai Star headlined a three-pronged attack at Geelong on Friday June 16 and broke his maiden with an eye-catching performance. A training master stroke by Mitch Freedman saw the 3yo gelding by Japanese sensation Tosen Stardom step out in distance with the blinkers on first time and almost seven weeks between runs. “Despite the time between runs we knew we had got enough work into him at home to step out in trip and it was pleasing to see him race a lot truer in the blinkers.”

Samurai Star will be one to follow in the back end of his 3yo season and looking like he will continue to improve out to 2000m. Congratulations to Darren Dance and the Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock team.
